AN INTRODUCTION TO KELLOGG EMPLOYEES' CREDIT UNION

A Credit Union is an organization formed by a group of people with a common bond who agree to save money and to make loans to the members of the organization. The Credit Union membership elects a Board of Directors to formulate policies and ensure that the day-to-day operations of your Credit Union are run according to government legislation and the by-laws. The Board of Directors is elected from the membership at the annual meeting. All members are welcome to attend the meeting and, if desired, to run for a position on the Board. As a member of the Credit Union you have one vote; regardless of your amount in shares and deposits. This means that you have a voice in your Credit Union and your opinion makes a difference. Unlike other financial institutions you have a say in the way your Credit Union operates.

Being a member gives you equal access to the wide range of services offered by the Credit Union. The Credit Union has all the services that you would expect from any financial institution, and offers them at competitive rates.

To join the Credit Union, you need to deposit $100.00 of capital shares. This share account works towards the growth and stability of your Credit Union. All of the profits made by the Credit Union are given back to the members by means of member participation rebates -- the more you take advantage of all the services offered, the more you gain both financially and in the satisfaction you'll feel from being actively involved in your Credit Union.
